Aleksandra Aranitović - Light-Rhythms
June 12 – July 23, 2025
A&A Interior Gallery, Porto Montenegro
Opening: June 12, 19:00
A&A Interior Gallery is pleased to present Light-Rhythms, a solo exhibition by Montenegrin artist Aleksandra Aranitović, featuring a new body of work that explores the phenomenology of vision through the rhythmic interplay of light, form, and space.
In this series, Aranitović continues her investigation into the perceptual structures of image-making. Working primarily in watercolor and mixed media, she constructs layered compositions where organic floral motifs and geometric frameworks coexist in delicate tension. Through the use of masking fluid, transparent washes, and overlapping paper surfaces, she creates pulsating visual fields — images that shift and respond to the viewer’s movement and gaze.
The Light-Rhythms series is presented in multiple formats, ranging from intimate works on paper to large-scale polyptychs and immersive installations. These works transcend the traditional boundaries of two-dimensional art, activating walls, floors, and ceilings to encourage new modes of seeing. Here, light is not only a subject but a structural force — it flows through composition like breath, shaping and being shaped by rhythm.
Aranitović, a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje and participant in the Erasmus+ program in Málaga, is recognized for her cross-disciplinary approach to painting, printmaking, and public art. She is the founder of Lastavica, a collective of young artists working in socially engaged contexts throughout Montenegro. Her murals and installations have transformed urban spaces into open arenas for community dialogue and visual experience.
With Light-Rhythms, Aleksandra Aranitović offers not just a series of artworks, but a sensitive environment where vision becomes a process — dynamic, reflective, and alive.
